Heavy Duty Super Grubber
Ground Gear subsoilers/deep rippers are specifically suited for hard and heavy soils and for bringing clay up from depths of 45 – 65 cm into not wetting soils for moisture retention within heavier clay, deeper soil profile that is brought up to within the soil surface, into the soil moisture zone where it is critical to give crops the best possible start during the growing season. This same deep fissuring action that brings the clay up also allows for the crop roots to go well down past compaction zones for optimum crop yield. This method of soil amelioration is well supported through Grains Council research.
The resultant increase that can be achieved in crop yields this way is a new frontier in many Australian crop growing systems.

Key Features / Benefits
- They are very well suited to high HP tractors, structually the frame is designed to handle difficult ripping conditions.
- Traction bolt protection on ripper legs. Simple system with less wear on pivots and bushings, plus no oil leaks.
- Equipped with specially produced Strenx SIIS beams from SSAB group in Sweden, these Strenx beams are designed to reduce weight of the widest folding machines without sacrificing strength.
- Legs are profiled from hardox 400 Wear Plate, for the best protection against abrasive sliding wear.
- The leg design allows for a progressive angle of penetration and maximum depth when lifting clay.
- Low power absorption is achieved in soft non wetting soils by mounting the Super Grubber on the tractors 3 point linkage.
- Fast & low cost compared to mouldboarding/ploughing 3.1 ha/hr with 3m machine. Ploughs have higher wear rates per ha and a lot more replacement parts to change.
- The addition of clod breaking plates on the legs helps with deep aeration and small wings help with soil and residual crop mixing.
- An excellent tool in both dry years & not detrimental to crop growth in wetter years. (Running cost per hectare in dry years is easily covered by yield gain, normally double).
- Ground Gear have a stable supply of other products especially ripper points with specialist tungsten inserts that further reduce cost per hectare when using these machines in very dry soil.
